The Hodges, a blend of “newgrass”, rock, folk, pop, and whatever else they are tossing into their musical blender, are an eclectic mix of three sisters and two brothers.

They grew up at a small Southern California ski area, operating the local "mom and pop" resort during the winter and playing bluegrass music in the lodge at night. Their summers consisted of performing at Universal City Walk, various local music clubs, festivals, and contests. Along the way, they've won a handful of awards for both individual and band competitions and now have finally transitioned into writing their own music.

Sticking to their artistic impulses and mixing traditional instrumentation with thoughtful lyrics and catchy melodies, The Hodges have an uncommon distinctiveness. “. . . lively, freshly cut, and entirely entertaining. . .” says Bernard Baur of Music Connection Magazine. ASCAP’s Playback magazine agrees: “. . . [The Hodges] are determined to make you sing along.”

Always in motion, their lyrics and melodies are pushed and pulled towards a higher artistry (usually boys against girls) and plain ol’ fun!

The band has gone through a fair amount of transition. They have lost two siblings to “growing up” (originally comprised of seven members) and have changed their band name five different times. Now, they are grown up (?), have settled on a band name (?), and sound good too.

The Hodges with their strange but appealing onstage relationship makes you really want to see what “Christmas at the Hodge house” would be like. Moreover their timeless relationship makes for good music and a great show.
